January 11, 2006
Daytona Kart Festival Dec 26-30 was
our first national event of the George Kugler Manufacturers
cup for the 2006 schedule.
In Cadet Jr. Sportsman Eric finished 5th out of 52
entry's, this was the most entry's that we've seen in this
class ever.
In the second day, he was in 2nd place in the final but due
to over excessive driving, he ran off the track but got his
composure and was able
to chase them down, pass some drivers and get another podium
shot in 5th place.
In Yamaha Jr Sportsman on the final day of the race, due to
carburetor problems we qualified very poorly and had to run in
the cancellation
race. He won the cancellation and in the pre-final he went from
19th to 11th spot. In the final in turn #1 he got pinched
between a couple of
drivers and lost a few spots, he was able to chase the
drivers down and worked down to top 10. 2 of the drivers
had a collision in front of him
and he had no place to go and bent his rear axle, by the
time he got back on the track he was able to finish 21st
with the bent axle but
gathered points.
We are going for our first state race Friday January 13-15
in Ocala, Fl. Stay tune for updates.
